Little Push 5 Day Challenge: Confidence Day 4

Don't take things personally
This is something I have to remind myself of daily. Quite often we assume people are thinking badly about us or judging us for some reason or another.  BUT to be honest, those people are too busy thinking about what others might be thinking of them to be worries about what your hair looks like today.

It's True.

We are selfish creatures.  And she we might notice things here and there about other people but generally we are too busy thinking of our to do list, what we are having for dinner or over-analyzing what our co-worker said to us at coffee time to really pay enough attention to anyone else.

So when you start to feel insecure about yourself, STOP.  Tell yourself that they people aren't even noticing or thinking about that.  Because theyprobably aren't.
Remind yourself that you don't need anyone's approval. If you're especially sensitive to how people treat you and you often overreact, you might have a strong radar for rejection. You worry that you're doing something wrong if you pick up on any kind of displeasure, and you want to fix it. But just because someone isn't happy with you doesn't mean you've done something wrong. In many cases, it means that person isn't happy with themselves and expects you to fill in the blanks (which is impossible).

Stop taking compliments personally, too. If you base your self-worth on how often people compliment and validate you, then you're allowing others to decide how you feel about yourself. If someone compliments you, it's no more personal than a direct insult. They're simply calling it how they see it, and that may or may not be accurate--only you can be the judge of that. If someone compliments you, that doesn’t make you a better person, it makes them a better person because they're taking the time to be supportive and encouraging. Your value remains unchanged, because it's something that comes from within.

So today try not to take anything anyone says Personally, no matter what they say.  Compliment or ctiticizm.  Let it all roll off and remember that as long as you are doing the best you can and being the best you can be then no ones elses opinions or judgements can effect how you feel about you.

Remain confident in yourself.

Have a great day!
